LONG-TAILED MACAQUE (MACACA FASCICULARIS) – KHAO SAM MUK, CHONBURI PROVINCE, THAILAND

Encountering a troop of macaques, I pulled over on the roadside to spend an hour or so photographing them. The juxtaposition of nature with the man-made is evocative of the main threat to wildlife around the world. The pensive nature and downward look of this individual suggest a sadness. I know that if you drove a road directly through my home, I would be sad too.
