About This Project

The Chief

The chief of the Dani village, located in the highlands of Baliem Valley in central Papua, looks at me curiously from the bottom up after I climbed the trunk of a tree cut to attract his attention. I photograph him while he is looking at me, with the morning light filtering through the foliage of the vegetation, capturing the energy he gives me every time he looks at me.
