A list of the most common questions received by our support team.

SUBMISSION PROCESS
Is there a theme for the contest?

No. We are open to any genre and techniques of photography. Photographic works of any kind of artistic style, size and technique (digital, film and experimental processes) are accepted.

Is it possible partecipate as collective/group of photographers?

Yes, both individual authors and collectives can participate.

What charateristics should the files to submit have?

Submitted digital images should be saved as .jpg, in sRGB format max 4 MB per file, max long side length 2000px. All entrants must be able to supply a high resolution image suitable for printing in exhibitions and marketing materials should the image be required.

Can I submit nude photography?

Yes. However due to the Instagram policy, we can only exhibit on our website.

Can I submit manipulated images?

Yes. Images can be manipulated. Photographic works of any kind of artistic style, size and technique (digital, film and experimental processes) are accepted.

How do I know if the sumbission was correct?

Once you have completed the registration of your images and made your payment, you will receive a confirmation email. If your registration or payment is incomplete, you will be contacted directly by our team within a few days.

Can I submit my images on a CD, URL Link or in a book ?

No. All images must be submitted in digital format via our online submission form.

I submitted my application, but I did not receive any confirmation email.

Please check your junk/spam mailbox. If you don’t see any email from us in 24 hours after your submission, please contact us.

Which payment methods can I use?

We accept payment by credit card, debit card, and PayPal. For using credit or debit cards, select “Stripe” as payment method on the submission form.

Should there be a watermark/copyright information added to the images entered into the contest?

No signature, stamp or any other identifying mark is allowed anywhere on the entry. All the images that have a watermark will be automatically excluded from the contest.

I am unable to register and/or pay, what can I do?

Please make sure you have completed the registration form correctly. If you still have problems, you can try again using a different browser or possibly a different device. If you have tried from a mobile phone, we recommend that you try to register from a computer.

How can I use the discount code?

After completing the registration form, please select “Stripe” as payment method and enter the discount code in the default field. Unfortunately it is currently not possible to use the discount with other payment methods.

REVIEW PROCESS
Who gets "featured" on the online galleries?

Only those who passed the primary review will be featured on our online galleries. Our online galleries are updated regularly, and the author of the work will be tagged (if provided Instagram ID at submission) when posted.

Will you publish all the pictures I submitted?

Only images that passed the primary review will be published.

Can I have the jury’s comments about my work? or can I know why I was not selected?

We do not disclose any information and comments regarding the selection of our jury.

When do I know who are the winners?

The winners will be announced on according to the schedule stated in the call for entries.

ONLINE GALLERIES
I don't see my works on the online galleries.

Only those who passed the primary review will be featured on our online galleries. Our online galleries are updated regularly, and the author of the work will be tagged (if provided Instagram ID at submission) when posted.

I don’t see all the works I submitted.

Our primary review is done by each image and not by author. The works you see on our online galleries are the ones that passed the primary review by our artistic commettee.

Can I put description for each of my work on website gallery?

Unfortunately, we can only put your project statement on our website gallery.

Can I share the Passepartout’s post on my Instagram?

Yes! You can tag us (@passepartoutprize) on your post so that we can also reshare to our audience.

There is a mistake in the text or infomation about my pictures you published.

Please write us an email to report the error. We will try to correct it as soon as possible.

EXHIBITION
Do I have to pay to patecipate to the Annual Exhibition?

No. We cover all the organizational cost of our Annual Exhibition. Artists (Exhibition Winners) are responsible for delivering their works.The exhibition is open to everyone free of charge.

CATALOGUE
How can I get the printed catalogue?

Printed Annual Catalogue can be purchased only by pre-order (to be release every spring) and at the Annual Exhibition. If you wish to receive any update on the pre-order, please sign up for our newsletter.

OTHERS

Do you issue a certificate of participation?

No. A certificate of participation in the contest will not be issued.
