About This Project

The selected photos are part of a project called ‘Seasons’. It was born in response to a condition of illness that I was experiencing and which had taken its toll on both my physical appearance and my inner balance. The evidence of discomfort imprinted on my body and in particular on my hair, a key element of femininity that I saw fading away, led me to an analysis of my being and to the creation of parallels between my personal story and the natural cycle of the seasons. In fact, the body changes and takes on different forms just as nature transforms, periodically passing from full affirmation to self-negation. In all the photos, stripped of the characteristics that make me identifiable, I confront myself by constructing alienating scenes of places, poses and objects. The entire project is divided into four sections, each corresponding to a season. The photos submitted belong: the first two to the ‘Autumn’ section and the last one to the ‘Spring’ section.
