While on a roadtrip through Southern and Central California, I took these monochrome images to capture the essence of the rural terrain I traveled through. In the first image, pastoral serenity is shown with cows grazing peacefully in vast pastures, embodying the tranquil beauty of the region’s countryside. The second image offers a striking juxtaposition of rural and modernity as powerlines cut through the landscape, with a plane soaring above, symbolizing the constant movement and technological progress intertwined with California’s scenic views. Finally, a visit to an organic fruit stand along the route is shown in the third photo, showcasing the community gathered for harvests from nearby farms. Together, these images tell the story of the gorgeous natural tapestry that California has to offer.
