Girl Portraits intimately explores the complexity of the female experience, specifically the experiences of young women. I use photography as a tool of listening. The voyeurism and performativity that traverse both photography and womanhood is navigated through vulnerable yet assertive visual languages. The use of gentle analogue processes is indicative of the indexical nature of the work, leaving traces of my own intervention as the photographer in the images. I place importance on reflection and contemplation for both myself and the viewer.
