Generally, Using my own plastique languages such as soft sculpture and photographies, my work is based on exploration of how our existences are revealed through a state of ‘absence’. When things are thrown away for it could no longer be used, or no longer desirable as a product, that is the moment when they actually ‘exist’. So I focus on the situations which are abandoned, given up, lost, left behind, and furthermore on the emotions that are derived from those conditions. So I can say that I translate the emotions of suffering such tragedies through my own views. I recently had questions more about the tragic stories from he greek mythologies, why are there so many justified victimes, and why so many of the artists throughout centuries depicted those scenes such as rape, punishment, violence, sacrifice…etc. Why do WE think the masterpieces describing those violent scenes are beautiful? So my photocollage work started recently in the terms of ‘transparence’. I use the photos I took of the greek sculptures who are suffering, and I use another image of my own suffering which I print on a tulle fabric. Kind of illusion effect, the little distance between two layers creates a unique possibility of imagination for the viewers.
