About This Project

Lika Banshoya

The fear is inside me. When I look outside the window at night, afraid of seeing some shadow lurking in the dark, it is I that I see. There is only my reflection. Made of trauma, anguish, grief. I realize, I am my own ghost. And so I photograph that ghost self. I embrace my fear through creation. I turn it into joy, into laughter. My ghost is dancing in the light. I am dancing. All photographs presented here are self portraits
