A Respite from the Brick Road

Inspired by the Wizard of Oz and how it relates to our everyday lives, I envision Dorothy stepping off the yellow brick road for just a moment.
She finds a patch of sun and a tree to rest against; a moment to breathe and regain her strength before returning to face all the threats of Oz. Yet even in her brief respite the shadowy fingers of the trees still reach for her. Not only in moments born of storms but any time in life, we seem to stand between peace and chaos.
