About This Project

Lucia Neri

In the photos extracted from these series, Lucia Neri investigates situations in which two women are forced into a representation of femininity imposed by a role, contrasting them with images that catch them in moments of everyday life doing something that truly identifies them.

«I have met different women in Paris, that have worked or were
still working, at the time we met, as hostesses. I asked them to explain me the reasons why they had chosen this path, what were their dreams or goals in life, and also, what kind of activities they like to do when they are not working. They have shared with me their passions, far away from those clichés that identified women with unique and fixed roles.»
