About This Project

Matthew Carlebach

I greatly admire what happens between a photographer and subject, but as a shy person I have worked backwards towards relating to my subject. My goal is always to capture a part of how someone is while also preserving and hiding even more. I wish to avoid immediacy in and to delay all that is immediate. These photographs are of friends/family/strangers.
