The series “Ob–da–ich” is dedicated to the ambivalent topic of one’s own origin. The focus is on photographically designed images that do not use role models, clichés or romanticization of the rural area. This work deals with the question of what a place one calls “home” is and what it would like to represent by giving an insight into the everyday life of a place. In it, I also investigate the dualism between the constrained structures of a small village and the freedom of the open countryside. The stylistic choices of strict compositions combined with more abstract subjects reflect the contradictions of this cultural space. The space depicted in this way is placed in new relationships both with itself and with the claim of the already diverse concept of home. The series consciously puts emphasis on the parameters of the photographic medium to create its subtle narrative.
