About This Project

Shun Zhai

Over the past decades, the emancipation of urban planning has seen a continuous and abrupt reconfiguration of urban layouts in large Chiese cities. “Since the age of 19, my friends and I have been going to buildings that are about to be demolished in Qingdao and taking many photos of the old city centre, construction camps and forgotten corners of the city. This may be the last time I document my city, the world is changing fast and when I come back all this may be gone.”
